Hunting hooves

We managed to get out hunting yesterday - Charlie, Felix and Bailey all  went, thanks to Stacy who was Charlie's partner for the day.
We did just over 18 miles, as always on a variety of terrain, from deep wet ground to roads and rocky tracks.  Stacy loved the fact that bare hooves are non-slip, no matter how bad the ground or how fast you go on the roads :-)
Felix and Charlie, ready for the off.
Who says clipped horses don't shine?

Charlie says: This is what its all about!
Stacy captures the moment!

I think that shine was 'shopped in. KIDDING!!! ;)

Isn't it funny how most horses, regardless of their "regular" color, sort of end up an odd mouse brown when clipped? Even the chestnuts aren't as red!

The hunt looks lovely as ever, and the boys look so keen to go. I hope you had a wonderful day!

That looks like SO much fun!

@Jen: all but the grey horses! You can hardly tell when they're in the nude!

Jen, we had a lovely day thanks, and actually I prefer Charlie's clipped colour to his unclipped bright bay - just me I guess :-)

Dressaager - its fun but very, very wet and muddy - especially now(!) Good waterproofs are essential as is a hot shower for the horses!
