Felix was one of the first horses I took barefoot and he was (and continues to be!) an inspiration. Unlike Ghost and Bailey, who were both lame in shoes and (initially at least) footy out of them, he was rock-crunching from day one.
Felix hunted happily over tough, stony terrain right from the start and it was he who made me realise what incredible levels of performance a healthy hoof is capable of.
He has just completed 7 seasons hunting barefoot - in his last 2 seasons alone he did over 1500 miles, and he must have covered many thousands of miles barefoot since he came out of shoes.
Felix is a pocket rocket, at only 15.1hh, but for me he is a horse in a million! http://www.vimeo.com/12358403
