Charlie

Charlie is a Welsh Section D x TB who came to us as a 5 year old.  He was only just backed and had been consistently lame with check ligament strain on both front limbs as soon as he was brought into work.  He was also very spooky and even to this day can be a worrier if things are not as they should be.

Fortunately, we found that going barefoot allowed him to set his own medio-lateral balance as he needed it to be, and he has stayed sound since.
Charlie has just finished his 5th season hunting over Exmoor, which is his favourite thing in the whole world and is second only to Felix in the enormous mileage (over 1200 miles in the last 2 seasons) he has clocked up barefoot.

He has been a master's horse numerous times and has even been the huntsman's horse twice.  He has given many people (including the editor of Horse and Hound!) their first taste of hunting on a barefoot horse and has proved his tough surefootedness over all terrain!
