Saffy's photos

Incredibly, Saffy has now been here for 4 weeks.  I'm not sure where the time has gone because it feels like she has only been here about 2, but she has certainly been making changes to her feet.
Although she arrived with a toe first landing she improved that very quickly, as she already had a very healthy frog and digital cushion.   This has meant that she could start working on roads and tougher surfaces very quickly too and that in turn has helped her hoof growth.
She was lamer on her LF (above) but it appeared as if her foot balance was actually worse on her RF.
You can see from this angle that the hoof looked out of medio-lateral balance and on  MRI she had collateral ligament strain.
The same foot now loading more evenly.
Here is the caudal view of the LF on day one.
And today, with an even more robust caudal hoof now she is landing heel first.
