Lucy's photos and footage

Lucy is the second new horse who arrived at the weekend.  She is a very smart TB mare who is only a youngster and who is destined for a career as an eventer.   She has nice feet and a great attitude, so fingers crossed that her rehab will be straightforward....(!)

She, like Zan, came in graduated bar shoes following a diagnosis of navicular bursitis and medial collateral ligament strain - and she also had pads, but only the one in her right front foot was left when she arrived!

As you can see, her landing isn't bad at all, although its intermittently toe first on the LF.  On x-ray (below) her biggest issue is medio-lateral balance, so thats where we will be aiming for the most improvement.

  4. Those shoes are kind of like art, would look great on the wall. Not so much on a hoof though...

  6. Was the imbalance visible externally? Because it's quite severe on the x-ray. If it's not so visible outwardly I'm guessing she'll be one of the ones that grows lateral extensions?

    Fascinating!
