Here at Rockley, the snow has been falling steadily but on Exmoor we have the big advantage that it happens to us fairly often so, as long as the forecasters have got it right, its a nuisance but it tends not to cause nearly as much trauma and chaos as it does in some parts of the country.
Even though the lanes are snowy, its no problem getting out on barefoot horses, so exercising goes on as normal and the horses seem to love the opportunity to go out and roll in it :-)
However, its a rarity even for us to have proper snow before Christmas - so of course there was nothing for it but to put Christmas music on the video footage that we took over the weekend (something I've never done before:-0) - apologies to those who aren't yet in the mood - but I hope that for everyone else it brings a smile on Monday morning! Kingsley and Isha were on tremendous form, as you can see...
It is lovely but makes me jealous as I can't get to the yard and worrying about whether my parents who are flying in from spain on thurs will make it.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful! And the ponies look very happy to be out and about in it, although Isha seems somewhat skeptical of the camera crew ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous landscape. I am not a fan of snow, but the ground is so hard here that the fluffy stuff might be a welcomed footing. It is fun to not have to worry about horse shoes in snow and ice!
ReplyDeleteYes, its gorgeous, and much. much nicer than the inch or so of ice we had a few weeks ago - at least in this, getting horses exercised is a breeze, and even the school is use-able :-)
ReplyDeleteCristina, I hope your parents get in OK - sounds like things are getting back to normal now so fingers crossed!
Jen, Isha is a little bit of a minx -the camera was being held by one of her owners ;-)
