There's no excuse

I went to trim some horses locally today, who are immaculately kept at a neighbouring farm.  Of course they have great hooves :-)

However, they have also recently taken on some ponies which till recently were being used by the National Trust for "conservation grazing".  The ponies have obviously had shocking laminitis, and I would guess their feet have not been trimmed for at least a year - if ever.

Apparently "conservation grazing" in this case involved the NT chucking the ponies onto some headland and leaving them there.  Although lots of time was spent "monitoring" the ponies' behaviour, seemingly none of the monitors knew enough to recognise that the ponies were lame and ill...

It makes you cross :-(
