At first Charlie was a bit bemused but he soon remembered what it was all about...ie: watching hounds, staying at the front and not letting oiks go past...
Meanwhile, I said hello to Rookie, who was one of our hound puppies 4 years ago - she was having a very exciting day and does good dancing and smiling!
Here we all are under amazing skies - Charlie is up at the front, natch...
Of course, for those of you who haven't been, Exmoor nearly always has blue sky and sunshine...
At Larkburrow Ruins - an amazing spot...
Where the huntsman has gone, we will boldly go(!)...
...even though the weather doesn't look quite so nice any more...
...crossing the river...
...and Charlie says: "Time for a drink".
Back at home after his customary big tea and dreaming of his moment of glory :-)

"Of course, for those of you who haven't been, Exmoor nearly always has blue sky and sunshine... " Of course. And that goes for Yorkshire too!
Oh, so perfect! Hooray for you, Charlie! Congratulations!
Nic, I know you are being facetious about the "blue skies and sunshine" but you do have gorgeous rides and smiling, dancing puppies and places called "Larkburrow Ruins" - oh, I am so terribly wishing I lived there with my three boys - rain and all.
:-) thanks Lainey! Juliette - you are right - I wouldn't live anywhere else despite being out in hail and rain this morning!
Freyalyn - the sun shines on the righteous ;-)
Charlie looks like he's *finally* got his proper spot at the head of the field. About time, he's sure!
"Exmoor nearly always has blue sky and sunshine." Are you suuuuure you didn't mean to say "Texas"? ;)
"Are you suuuuure you didn't mean to say "Texas"?"
What, you mean its sunny over there too...? ;-)
STILL HUNTING?????
I really really hate you now. And so does Radar.
C :-)
i think you are lying about the blue skies... given you are now officially in daught! clearly you must never have rain!
good luck at stopping Charlie heading straight for the front on future outings - i suspect he might like his upgrade a bit too much ;)
LOL Emma - our "drought" has been marked by non-stop rain since Tuesday morning (actually it did stop, to be replaced by hail...) and all streams now in max. spate - don't think the met office are familiar with our micro-climate somehow!
C - we are grinning like Cheshire Cats here - still 3 meets to go :-)
I'm scowling like a Cheshire hunter whose meets finished 3 Saturday ago.
You'd better enjoy them, or else!
C
